Lear China Team Gives Back to the Community
Lear China employees constantly strive to take initiatives to have a positive impact on the people and communities around them who are in need of special assistance. Recently Lear plants in China have proudly participated in some charitable activities locally.
On January 28, 2019, Asia headquarters supported a governmental charity program by donating almost $1,500 contributed by employees and then matched by the company for the local Shanghai Jiangpu community. This charity program has a 24-year history and is aimed to helping the elderly, the disabled and families in financial need.
Additional recent highlights include:
Team members from Lear Automotive Fabrics (Rui'an) Company Shanghai Branch went to visit disabled children in Shanghai's Guangci Children Welfare Home and brought them food and supplies.
Shanghai Lear Automotive Systems Company Changshu Branch volunteers visited a local home for elders and provided personal care and grooming service to the residents and on the same day 12 volunteers from Shanghai Lear Automotive Systems Company repeated an effort in visiting a social welfare home.
Han Feng (Site Mgr.) also led a team from Shenyang Lear Automotive Seating and Interior Systems Company to visit 140 people living in a local social welfare home and delivered daily supplies.
Approximately 90 volunteers from Lear Chang'an (Hangzhou) Automotive Seating Company contributed their time in sustainability efforts by collecting garbage in the park and the river near their plant.
"We would like to thank all the employees who participated in various CSR activities for their time and dedication. Supporting the communities where we do business is the right thing to do for Lear. Together we can make a difference," said Charles Chang (VP – Asia Seating & Managing Dir., China).
